Feminism
Women were one of the most suppressed groups in history. To get their rights, women started to revolt, giving birth to feminism. Quite simply, feminism is about all genders having equal rights and opportunities. It’s about leveling the playing field between genders, and ensuring that diverse women and girls have the same opportunities in life available to boys and men. People who advocate for equal rights for all genders are known as feminists. A feminist doesn’t only have to be a female. Anyone of any gender can be a feminist Being a feminist simply means believing in equal rights for all genders. a feminist doesn’t only have to be a female. It’s not about hating men. It’s not about women being better than men. That is a common misconception that should be rectified. It also doesn't mean that we are keeping a scale of who has it worse, it's about learning about the inequalities between men and women, and remembering that we are in this together. I don’t claim to be an authority on anyone else’s feminism, but to me, acknowledging how different forms of discrimination intersect with and amplify gender-based discrimination is one of the most critical things to help women achieve their rights. Women are a huge part of society, if they aren't allowed to progress, society as a whole will break down.
Before I finish, I would like to take an example of the rape cases that have happened. Every time we bring one up, some people blame women for "leading them on" and that "she was asking for it". Society expects women to have restrictions on what they wear, who they are with, and what they do, instead of educating boys and men on how to treat women. We have to start doing that, instead of creating restrictions for women for things that aren't even in their control. Let us get women the respect we deserve, and treat us like the queens we are!
