Fighting confessions

Fighting confessions

I remember that night

When we stared at each other across the room

In the fading daylight.

We just had a fight

Leaving the night so quiet

The fire the only light

So dull yet so bright

Accusations were thrown,

Pillows and vases followed,

As the rest of the world faded

Into the depths of the unknown.

You broke first,

Apologies in a flood,

But then you paused,

and I feared the worst.

I wondered if I was

to be washed away,

But you fell to your knees

and begged me to stay.

So I did.

Big mistake.
