Jallianwala Bagh
We took to the streets,
but with silence and peace.
We wanted independence to
show our feats,
And we wanted to get it with
the harmlessness of trees.
But they advanced on us,
with their swords and horses and guns.
They painted the streets red,
on orders of General Dyer, who led.
The screams soon followed,
right before the thuds,
The British weren't mellowed,
watching the fires that they fed.
